TINATA DANCE

ElizabEth cORBETT

Elizabeth Corbett dances, teaches, and choreographs out of upstate NY, Memphis, and Paris, France. A dual U.S.-Belgian citizen, Corbett has been continuously inspired in dance across numerous continents and six decades. Her love for dance began as a child, dancing in the kitchen, and with early training in Rochester, NY, the National Academy of Arts in Champaign IL, and NYC. She spent several formative years as a member of the Milwaukee Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet, followed by a decade with William Forsythe’s Ballett Frankfurt. Ms. Corbett worked in Brussels with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s school of contemporary dance, P.A.R.T.S., and with Rosas, as a teaching artist for over ten years. Her work with Forsythe and De Keersmaeker set the stage for international guest invitations as a freelance artist in teaching, dancing, and choreographing. Further opportunities arose through her graduate degree in dance at Hollins University, and have led the way to forming the dance collective TINATA with Brynne Billingsley and Penelope Freeh.
