Alexandra Stilianos holds a multidisciplinary Master of Fine Arts in Dance degree from The Ohio State University. Her research contains intersecting threads of dance, immersive and interactive theatre, technology, women and gender studies, contemporary and commercial dance forms, and choreographic methods. Alexandra has been a guest artist at Wittenberg University, Ohio Northern University, Bowling Green State University and recent commissions include Ohio State’s Brazil Tour Group and the School Tour Performing Company. She has trained with Bebe Miller, Eddie Taketa, Susan Van Pelt Petry, Erica Sobol, Nico O’Connor, Sabrina Phillip, Colleen Murphy, Tammy Starr, and many Gaga Movement intensives. Alexandra has performed for Mashup Contemporary Dance Co., Mattidance, Silverlake Contemporary Ballet, Open Window Dance, and Norah Zuniga Shaw. She’s presented original work at the Mix Match Dance Festival, the American College Dance Festival, Choreographers Carnival Los Angeles, RAW Artists, and at OSU. She has been serving as a national competition judge for six years including acting as a head judge at regional competitions. Alexandra has been teaching and choreographing for over thirteen years at private studios, dance festivals, community programs, student organizations, and university departments. She is currently on Faculty in the Dance Program at Harold Washington College in Chicago, IL.
