Daniel Burkholder is the Director of The Playground and his work has been seen at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (WDC), 92nd Street Y (NYC), 848 Community Space (SF), Tribeca Performing Arts Center (NYC), Dance Place (WDC), along with numerous indoor and outdoor spaces. He has served as curator for the DC International Improvisation Festival and on the Steering Committee for the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festival. He has taught at the Wild Meadows Improvisation Intensive, University of Maryland College Park, American University, George Washington University, numerous studios and as a guest teacher for Cirque du Soleil. Daniel is an artist-in-residence at Lombardi Cancer Center/Georgetown University Hospital. Daniel is completing his M.F.A. in Dance at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, previously graduating from Sarah Lawrence College (B.A.), American University (M.A.), and is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (cm).
